Affected dogs present with progressive neurological disease around 9 months of age. Symptoms include loss of learned behaviour, mental dullness, Ataxia, loss of vision, weakness, abnormal gait, seizures, tremors and aggressive behaviour. Symptoms progress very quickly and dogs typically die by 12 months of age.

Moderate. This disease can cause significant signs of discomfort and/or dysfunction in affected animals. It may involve relatively high treatment/management costs, and can sometimes reduce life expectancy.
